The Retribution of Abortion and The City of Undeserved Crying Dead for the Baby Spirits

Amitabha! Osiris!

Today A Yu wants to ask the Osiris the retribution of abortion.

The Osiris said, “Abortion is severely punished by the hadean world. The hadean law stipulates there are three kinds of situations for those who can accumulate the merits: the first, to save lives of human beings; the second, to gratify the widow of chastity; and the third, to do good deeds but not let others know. In the cause and effect law, the merits are enough to change the fate. Since the ancient times, with the merits people can become dignitaries with eminent offspring. Abortion in fact is to despoil the life of sentient beings and committing the precept of not killing. Also the child with the natural goodness has been killed before birth which is equivalent to parricide and to hurt and make the Buddha bleed, and also create the evil karma with the child. The so-called no grace no grudges, people won’t become family dependents.

There are two kinds of relationships for the fate between the parents and the child, to ask for the debt and to repay the debt. If the child is to repay the debt, it is because the killing has brought with it a resentful heart then it will become the evil karma. If the child is coming to ask for the debt then it will become much more troublesome. The evil karma plus the anger, the result is deeper owing karma.

There are three cases of abortion. The first, it is not the parents’ purpose to abort but because the child did not have enough merits, for example, the fetus died inside of the womb, vesicular mole, or a variety reasons like during pregnancy the woman got ill and so on that leads to the baby not being born. For this kind of situation the adults must repent and chant the sutra for the baby spirit’s transcendence and must transfer the merits to the baby spirit who can leave the suffering and get happiness as soon as possible.

The second kind is because of the poor economic situation to abort. This is not allowed by the hadean law. It cannot be because of the economic matters, thus to kill the lives.

The ways of dealing with the issues are very important. It will be thousands of times better to live in hardship in the human world than to get the retribution later in the hell from abortion. Keep this in mind! Also maybe this baby is coming to return the benefaction and after the baby is born, the family economic could change to be wealthy and to be a well-off family. Of course, it depends on the actual specific case. For this kind of situation, parents’ merits will be reduced (health, career, wealth and so on, all will be reduced) and fall into the Sword Forest Hell to receive the retribution for 1,000 years. If the parents are unmarried then they will first go to the Lash and Stave Hell to receive the retribution for 500 years then when they will reincarnate to have the human body, and they also need to repay the remainder of the retribution of killing lives. For example, the female will have the gynecological diseases and male will have the diseases related to the procreation system.  The third is currently the most common in the human world. Many unmarried men and women will abort as soon as they have the fetus. The retribution of this behavior is the biggest; when alive the parents’ merits will be reduced and after death they will first fall into the Lash and Stave Hell to receive the retribution for 800 years and then fall into the Sword Forest Hell to receive the retribution for 2,000 years. The guilt of female aborting is more severe than the male because it is the female who decides to abort in the end so the female’s guilt will be heavier. A Yu do you want to take a visit?”

I said, “Okay!” Very soon we arrived. In here it is not the same as the sexual misconduct hells. In the sexual misconduct hells there are full of lustful thoughts of sexual misconduct and the sounds of suffering. There are very heavy resentment and cries of pain here. Looking up there are four Chinese characters, “The City of the Undeserved Crying Dead”.

Wow! So many little babies! Dense crowds of them and all of them were crying. Their cry is so tragic! I was tearful when I saw the scene - some baby spirits were crying and shouting, and some were like a blood cell.

The Osiris said when that spirit was aborted, the doctor created this mess. That baby spirit was too scared so up to now he is still curled up. In fact, he is now able to stretch open, but he is still in that kind of persistent pain and could not get out. I asked the Osiris when can he be in no pain? The Osiris said that it depended on whether the parents of this baby spirit would repent for him or transfer the merits to him. There was another one she was calling mom. I asked the Osiris, how can the baby spirit who is not born say mom? The Osiris said that these baby spirits if they could be born in the human world to be humans, the human being can learn to speak after 1 year old, but now they are not in the human world and they have come to hell to be a spirit. The spirits have spiritual powers and they think through thoughts. In short, the baby spirits here are so tragic and all of them are constantly shouting and crying.  What a pity! The heaven has the virtue. We should not kill the innocent little lives because of our selfishness.

The Osiris told me this “The City of the Undeserved Crying Dead” was newly built. The baby spirits continuously arrive during our conversation. There are really a lot!

At this point I saw a big group of baby spirits flying holding a yellow paper in their hands. It felt so strange; the Osiris said they were holding the tokens approved by King of the nether world. With this token the ghost officers would let them leave here and go out to find their parents. Normally most of them will be attached to their mother and make their mother’s body feel uncomfortable. As for the specific attachment area, it depends on the preferences of the baby spirits. Some baby spirits like to go back to the womb of their mother, they will attach inside of the womb. Some like to attach in the heart of their mother and so on. Some will follow the mother or the father, some do not let their mom or dad sleep. In brief, they will cause trouble at any time. If others can be born, the baby spirits will destroy the harmony of the family, for example, to beat the little brother and little sister, deliberately come up with ways to express their anger and grievance towards their parents.

Here on the right there is an old place which was built 70 years ago called The Bloodstain City. The Bloodstain City is inadequate to use. The baby spirits in The Bloodstain City felt a strong lonely feeling. The Osiris said that all the baby spirits who were not supposed to be aborted were placed here. Oh! I see. No wonder all of them were alone weeping.

The Osiris also said that 70 years ago, few people deliberately had abortion. At that time most cases were the baby spirits had not enough merits to be born. Now in the human world the majority is intentional abortion. If the morning-after pill is taken, this also belongs to breaking the precept of not killing. The baby spirit has already been inseminated and because taking the morning-after pill countless baby spirits are successfully aborted. 

The Osiris said as well, “Every day there are aborted baby spirits from the human world coming to register now and 90% of them are aborted because of sexual misconduct. This is a very big killing karma. The sexual misconduct coupled with the killing will form an evil karmic disaster. When this karma reaches to the point where the balance of the heaven and earth is lost, there will definitely be disasters on earth due to the result of resentment. They need to release the anger to dissipate a part of the big evil karma by the way of disasters. A Yu! You quickly go back to warn the sentient beings of the human world about the retribution of abortion!”

Yes! Thank you for your hardship today Osiris!

A Yu would like to share about the 56th volume of The Great Treasure Accumulation Sutra. Buddha said, “The place to be born depends on the previous karma, the spirit will be attracted to that form. If to be born in the heaven the head of the spirit will be upwards. If to be born in the human, animal or ghost realms the spirit will leave sideways and if to be born in the hell the head of spirit will point downwards. All the spirits have the spiritual power and fly in the air just like the heaven eye can see the places the baby spirits will be born from a distance.”

“Only when the parents and the child have the karma of feeling each other, the child then can enter the mother’s womb. And when that spirit will enter the mother’s womb, the mind of the spirit will be reversed. If the baby is male, he will love the mother and hate the father. If the baby is female, she will love the father and hate the mother.”

Each coming life must have the complete variety of conditions with both the father and the mother and the spirits won’t enter the mother’s womb without any conditions. The baby came with the conditions the parents should treasure. No matter what the conditions are, good or evil, at the time when the conditions are gathered together, the parents will accept the retribution by themselves. Hope all sentient beings aborted can seriously repent and chant the names of the Buddhas’ to transfer the merits to the poor little baby spirits. Wish they can transcend to be in the Pure Land and leave suffering and gain happiness!
